New Nordic Horses was founded in 2004 by veterinarian Wim Housen, with a clear mission: to provide top-level services in both equine reproduction and sport horse breeding.
We specialize in the collection, freezing, storage, and distribution of stallion semen — fresh and frozen — for both national and international use.
A central part of our operation is our exclusive group of in-house stallions, carefully selected for their bloodlines, performance, and temperament. These stallions are available for breeding through both fresh and frozen semen.
Alongside our semen services, we run an active show jumping breeding program, offering talented young horses and sport horses for sale. Emilia Housen, Wim’s daughter, is our rider and competes with our horses in the sport.
With expertise, care, and passion, we support breeders and equestrian professionals every step of the way.
Dr. Wim Housen is the founder of New Nordic Horses and brings over 20 years of experience in equine reproduction and sport horse veterinary care. After completing his veterinary studies, he specialized in reproductive medicine, with a particular focus on semen technology.
He is specialised in cryopreservation — the freezing and long-term storage of stallion semen. Under his guidance, New Nordic Horses has developed a state-of-the-art, EU-certified facility in Meeuwen-Gruitrode, where stallions from various owners are professionally housed for semen collection, processing, and storage.
In addition to his work in reproduction, Dr. Housen remains active in the field of sport horse veterinary care, with a focus on radiology, pre-purchase exams, and performance-related treatment. His expertise and dedication are at the core of the quality and professionalism that define New Nordic Horses
